IT Support for business
Finding solutions to your IT frustrations
Finding the Answer
IT Support can be delivered in different ways and with remote access technology to system monitoring and of course good old site visits. For those things you just can’t do from behind a desk!
Support Services
Site Visit
There are some things you just cannot do remotely and for those, I will attend your site to carry out whatever it needs to be done.
You can book a half or a whole day if its a process that can be scheduled or if it’s “It Can’t-Wait” then, of course, I will do my best to get to you as fast as I can. (Bear in mind I don’t own a helicopter!)
For site visits, I cover Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire, Ceredigion, Swansea, Cardiff and most of South and West Wales.
For larger projects, I will travel further a field
Remote Access
Remote Access is such a vital tool for providing support to my clients I couldn’t do my job without it. It’s great for those times when the problem could take a just few minutes to resolve.
I will always ask for permission by accessing your system if you have my remote agent installed otherwise it can be on a one-time use basis.
System Monitoring
If you become one of my clients and you want this level of service I install a small program on your system which monitors your system and will notify if something is out of the normal.
This service also links in with Comodo Antivirus and patch management system
Some Common PC Problems
When Windows Updates strike!
In the most general terms, Microsft’s updates can create more problems than they solve!
If you came in on a Monday morning and something that was working and now is not, I would bet it will be down to a system update.
What should you do?
Well, you can rollback, but I, not a fan of that as it will just come back again.
The best course of action is normally to update the software that has stopped working properly
Slow Internet Browser
So, you have a good fibre connection maybe 50mb download but your browser is slower than AOL dialup.
What do you do?
Run a speed test. This one is pretty good from Speedtest Just to be sure see how good your connection is.
Well, if your speed test checks out the next step are to clear out all the system temp files. The simplest option is to download “CCleaner” and run that in default. That will do the cleanout for you, only change the defaults if you know what you’re doing.
Ok, if that hasn’t fixed the problem maybe try a faster browser like Oprea
Hard disk Running out of Space ?
So, you’ve got an oldish drive and now you’re nearing the capacity of disk space, but the thought of all the re-installation of the software just makes you shudder. Here is what you can do.
This is by far the best way to avoid a full re-installation is cloning the drive say yours is a 250GB SSD buy a 1TB SSD clone it using a piece of hardware called a duplicator.
Once its cloned you then use a disk partition tool to expand the cloned drive to use all its empty space.
That is by far the best way to do it if you can your hand on a duplicator
so, do you have an “IT” issue that needs to be sorted?
If yes, then get in contact, you won’t be charged for your initial call and I would be happy to listen and advise you on whether I can help you or not.
Looking forward to talking to you soon.
